Meal prep is one of the most reliable ways to stay protein-forward on a GLP-1, because it removes the “what do I even eat” problem on days you’d rather skip food entirely. These bowls batch in about half an hour and give you 35 grams of protein per serving, ready to grab all week.

Why this works on a GLP-1

When your appetite is unpredictable, having protein already cooked and portioned means a good choice is the easy choice. Lean ground turkey is affordable and mild, quinoa adds fiber and a little extra protein, and the whole thing reheats well. Portioning ahead also makes it simple to eat a smaller amount without wasting food — you just close the container and finish it later.

Make it your own

Cook once, eat four times — that’s the quiet math that keeps your protein on track when motivation runs low.

Ingredients

  • 1.25 lb (565g) lean ground turkey (93/7)
  • 1 cup dry quinoa (or 2 cups cooked rice), cooked per package
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cups baby spinach (stirred in at the end)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp each: garlic powder, cumin, smoked paprika; salt and pepper to taste
  • To serve: 1/4 avocado, salsa, or a squeeze of lime per bowl

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the quinoa (or rice) and set aside.

  2. 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium. Add the onion and bell pepper; cook 4–5 minutes until softened.

  3. 3

Add the ground turkey and the spices. Break it up and cook 8–10 minutes until no longer pink.

  4. 4

Stir in the spinach until just wilted. Taste and adjust seasoning.

  5. 5

Divide quinoa and turkey among 4 containers. Top each with avocado, salsa, or lime just before eating. Keeps 4 days in the fridge.

Tips

  • Small appetite? Portion into smaller containers — half a bowl now, the rest later, so nothing goes to waste.
  • Higher protein, fewer carbs: halve the quinoa and add extra turkey or a side of Greek yogurt.
  • Freezes well (without the avocado) — make a double batch and stash half.
