Some GLP-1 days, solid food just doesn’t appeal — and that’s exactly when a smoothie earns its place. Cold, smooth, and sippable, it’s one of the easiest ways to get real protein in when your appetite is small or your stomach is unsettled. This one delivers 32 grams of protein in about five minutes, no cooking required.
Why this works on a GLP-1
Liquid calories go down more easily than a plate of food when your appetite is low, so a smoothie is a reliable way to protect your daily protein target on the days eating feels like a chore. The Greek yogurt and protein powder do the heavy lifting; the berries and chia add fiber and make it feel like a treat rather than a supplement.
Because it’s cold and blended smooth, it also tends to sit better than solid food on a nausea day — one of the gentler options when things aren’t settling.
Make it your own
- Higher protein: swap almond milk for skim milk, or add half a scoop more protein powder.
- More fiber: add a tablespoon of ground flax or a small handful of spinach (you won’t taste it).
- Different flavors: try mango + a little ginger, or peanut butter + cocoa for a dessert-like version.

Ingredients
- 1 scoop (about 25–30g) vanilla or unflavored protein powder
- 1/4 cup (60g) plain non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or skim milk for more protein)
- 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1/2 frozen banana (adds creaminess; skip for lower sugar)
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- A few ice cubes (optional, for a thicker, colder blend)
Instructions
- 1
Add the almond milk and Greek yogurt to the blender first — liquids on the bottom blend more smoothly.
- 2
Add the protein powder, frozen berries, banana, and chia seeds.
- 3
Blend 30–45 seconds until completely smooth. Add a splash more milk if it's too thick, or ice if you want it thicker and colder.
- 4
Pour and drink right away, or keep in the fridge up to a few hours (give it a shake before drinking).
Tips
- Low appetite or nausea? Cold, blended, and sippable is often the easiest way to get protein in — split it into two smaller servings across the morning.
- Want it higher-protein without more volume? Use skim milk instead of almond milk (+8g) or a second half-scoop of protein powder.
- Too sweet on your stomach? Skip the banana and use extra berries — less sugar, still creamy.
